The design is aimed at the informal food sector. It is a small, inexpensive stove with an oven large enough to bake three loaves of bread at once, or two trays of muffins which will fit inside a 300mm x 400mm space. Many modern rural households have a coal stove of standard construction. When used to burn wood instead of coal, fuel consumption is typically doubled! The Paper Brick Maker recycles waste paper and cardboard into combustible bricks that can be used in place of firewood in a stove. The paper can be burned alone or it can be mixed with many combustible fuels like wood chips, grass or coal dust. The Vesto is a variable energy, fuel efficient wood burning stove based on a modified 25 litre paint can. It has preheated secondary air of three types as well as preheated primary air. The primary air and most of the secondary air are separately controlled by two horizontally sliding levers that protrude from one side of the body.
